The burning of sage and or other sacred plants is known as smudging and has been used for centuries to cleanse a space, self or objects from negative energy. It has been practiced for centuries.

White sage is used to cleanse a space, self, or object, of negative energy. It is cleansing, purifying, and protective.

The benefits of rosemary smudging include promoting clarity and peace of mind and fostering a connection to one's spiritual self. Rosemary is recognized for its ability to alleviate stress and enhance concentration and mental sharpness in the nervous system. Additionally, burning rosemary is thought to repel bacteria and viruses, making it an excellent option for purifying the air. Since ancient times, rosemary has been incorporated into rituals, where it is thought to impart strength, fortune, and well-being to its users.
